Ridö, inhabited since the Iron Age, is an excellent island for camping in the wild and walking, and there are several places where you can light a fire. The island is also a perfect spot for cycling as you can take your bike with you on the ferryboat.

 

Ridön is home to about 30 different kinds of mammals and 160 species of birds.

 

In the 17th century, the shipyard here was one of the Crown shipyards and in 1613 work was started on a man-of-war commissioned by His Royal Majesty and christened Rickznyckeln.

 

It is easy to get to Ridön either with your own boat or the regular ferryboat service.
